Voice of the City explores, develops, supports and produces inter-disciplinary visual arts and performance. We believe that in the creation of good art, the idea takes primacy over the medium; we bring together Chicago artists across disciplines, to find the form together that will deliver the most impactful art experiences to everyone in Logan Square and Avondale.

Jenny Crissy of Teatr Brama, and Christopher Ellis and Dawn Marie Galtieri of VOTC, discuss their collaboration in 2013, Emotion in Sound. The project took over a year to plan, and thanks to the Offices of Mike Quigley & Dick Durbin VOTC was able to negotiate the visa hurdles. Emotion in Sound included Associate Artists, Jill Heyser & Teresa Kuruvilla, Dawn Marie Galtieri and other Chicago artists.
